Harris improved a lot this past year and, while still needing improvement, is likely to be our starter for two more years

Although Harris improved slightly unless he improves dramatically going forward we will not win the West with him at QB. I don't necessarily blame it on Harris, they are asking him to run an offense that he is not suited for so much. Even though he has a cannon for an arm he isn't the most accurate passer which is what is need in a pro style offense. That is why Mett was so successful "besides have the 2 best receivers in the country" he was an accurate passer.

Looking at Harris he doesn't even look comfortable in the pocket and if you are in a pro-style offense and you aren't comfortable in the pocket well you see the results. Harris did well against very inferior defenses and stunk it up against good defenses. I don't see that changes much going forward because LSU is not implementing an offense for Harris to be successful in.

I disagree with you on this point. I think he improved more than "slightly". people learn at different rates and the qb position is by far the toughest to learn. Harris looked better than Prescott at the same juncture of their careers.

i'm not happy we didn't sign a qb (although we still may) but the fact is next year gives us plenty of time to sign one and coach him up. and yes, we should sign more than one.

the situation is what it is and lamenting the fact that we whiffed doesn't do any good.

my biggest question is why we didn't pursue Scott. he's short but that doesn't mean he wouldn't have panned out.
