NYC is the king of all American cities, I fully acknowledge that, but Upstate New York is every bit as redneck as rural Texas and from my own personal experience, more racist. "Diversity" is a REALLY bad argument as Houston is more diverse than NYC and offers every culinary experience and ethnic tradition NYC has, except for good bagels. ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)

Houston is diverse as any city that's worth a frick, that doesn't make it special. As far culinary diversity not many cities in the world can compete with NYC, so I'm sure Houston is not biting on the heels of NYC in that respect.

What's the metric you are using to compare Houston and NYC on diversity?
There's well over 100 languages spoken just in Queens, and almost exactly half of the city is either a first or second generation immigrant, with English being only spoken exclusively in 51% of houses.
