No, I get what you're saying. It just seems to me, you know, you have the chance right there to win the game. No coin flip, no bullshite. You win or lose on one play, just like you would have in OT, but this way its on your terms rather than your opponents.

I understand the thinking but with that much on the line, coaches are going to take the chance of either winning the coin toss or giving their defense a chance to get a stop or at least hold them to a fg. Whether it's the right call or not, it's the safer choice.

You also have a better chance to lose the game on that play than you do by going to OT, statistically speaking, i'm pretty sure of that.
