This was more my intended question.
I can't imagine anyone in BR can afford a safe place for themselves (especially with a child) on $25k. So I suppose most private school teachers are coming from a dual income household.
I understand not having aspirations to make six figures. I mean, I'd love it as much as anyone, but my happiness is more important. That said, being able to survive comfortably vs. being poor is more than just desiring money. I mean, $25k puts your child in free/reduced lunch range.. and that range isn't very forgiving so you know you're low when you're in it.

They can always tutor for extra cash and do something during the summer. I know a teacher that works a seasonal job during the summer for good extra money.
