I can see where some forms of corporeal punishment are acceptable. Child rearing does require some form of maintaining control.

However, I believe that it is naive to use corporeal as a means to justify consequences will come to those who do wrong. At some point in life, everyone learns that in most cases bad things are done to people and there is NEVER any repercussions. That is just the way society is structured.

The concept of a spanking is punishment for doing something wrong only works in controlled system of a parent/guardian. Outside of this system, it serves as nothing more that a pretext of how one should behave.
