It does when one remembers that the mayor is also the Parish President. If St. George becomes a thing and creates a successful school district that reverses the middle class exodus out of the parish to Ascension and Livingston, then it would mean more tax revenue for the city/parish government.

People already live there, the money is already coming in from the unincorporated areas.
Regardless, the City of St. George isn't going to happen.
