My wife and I spent a good amount of time in Asheville (we got married there) and we do thanksgiving in nearby Brevard each year. I agree w the recs - Wicked Weed, and Sierra Nevada and Highlands. French Broad has good beer too.

Food wise - Curate and the Admiral, Tupelo honey for brunch.

I also would recommend the asheville brews cruise if not wanting to drive --- we had a great experience

Thirsty Monk is a good pub to hit if you just want to have a pint.

Chestnut is a good restaurant downtown as well.
