While true, when you read more about his defensive scheme, he seems to have a somewhat unorthodox system that is designed specifically to create favorable match ups every play.
Two things stood out to me in his answer to the very first question he was asked at the press conference.
When asked what he would consider to be hallmarks of an Aranda defense he used the terms, "smart aggression", and "flipping the math."
The first term is pretty much self explanatory. The second term reminds me of a phrase sometimes attributed to Confederate officer, Nathan Bedford Forrest, "getting there firstest with the mostest" - a highly effective tactic in any sort of conflict - whether you're talking about the battlefield. a chess board, or the gridiron.
I really love this hire.
