I have a Stoeger m3500 and really like it. Had it 2 years now and never a problem. i think it is great value for the money, but I do think you need to be a bigger guy for this gun. It is larger in the forearm than the benellis, it has a heavy trigger, it is a heavy gun, and it is inertia driven so more recoil.

I will be getting Stoeger M3500 in Max-5 camo this year. It sounds exactly like what the OP wants too. Cheap, reliable and semi-auto that can shoot up to 3.5"

How was the trigger in the M3500? The reviews say its like a 7lbs trigger. How would that compare to the 870's trigger. Im considering the M3500 but i am concerned about the heavy trigger.
