In Louisiana all salvageable meat confiscated by LDWF and SO has to be donated to certain documented charities in the state. You CAN KEEP the road kill but you must clean it and take all meat to one of the donation centers. That center will sign your affidavit that it was donated and you can take a copy of that back to the agent of officer that came to the scene so he can record it on the official report. That is the only way you can make it work to keep the horns. You just have to tell the officer what you would like to do. DO NOT ASK "hey can I keep it"!
