Here are some good reasonable comments that could have been made if true.

The alteration was done with Chavis' verbal agreement to correct an error.

The alteration was not a material change but just corrected a typographical error.

The alteration does not change the fact that the liquidated damages clause is enforceable.


Unfortunately my understanding is that Chavis contends the university unilaterally altered the liquidated damages clause in his 2012 contract which is the meat of the lawsuit. If True that's not a good sign of things to come.
