To me, this is depressing with regards to the way that the American youth is trending. I guess I don't see blind religiosity as a favorable characteristic of an emerging American who relies on reason rather than rhyme. This isn't the way that the country's youth is going. This may, however, be a trend that you don't like. Whether you disagree with the merit of these statements obviously determines whether or not you perceive the forced reliance on "scholars" like CS Lewis to be a good thing or a bad thing.
There's probably a generational gap.
