The insert fad is fine. The big three flooded the market with so many cards that they became worthless.

My favorite story is when Topps was starting out they had a set or two that was missing a number so everyone kept trying to complete sets but there was no number 176 or something along those lines.

The insert had just threw gas on the fire. You already had a devalued base set due to quantity. Now people cared even less because you wanted that snip of a game used jersey. What did I get a down vote for?
