It doesn't get much better than this as far as I'm concerned.

My old Bama fraternity brother is Chad Gamble, the 400 Unit's drummer. For this reason, I have given them more than the usual listens to like them...but alas--the introspective Americana just does nothing for me.

They are a very talented band, but that style of music never grabs me (same for Wilco).

As far as a singer song writer, I agree. Check out Cover Me Up on Austin City Limits.

Ahh--Tuscumbia...He and his brother Al are both great guys.

Al plays keys in St. Paul and the Broken Bones--I usually hang with him for an hour or so when they play at Tipitinas. I hung with Chad for a bit when they played Jazz Fest a couple years ago.

My wife took me kicking and screaming to see him in Chattanooga a few weeks ago but i enjoyed it a lot. Has a really good band behind him. Was a hell of a lot better than i thought it would be

I haven't been to a show of his since he gave up drinking. All the times I've seen him he's been drunk as shite, but still really good Probably even better now that he dried out.
