The Fournette Effect: The only way for Miles to adjust

While we can all agree that it was unfortunate that LF7 had to experience the Bama game, there is a silver lining.
Miles was the last man on the planet who felt that he could outman and out-physical Bama with "want" toughness and endurance.
It took the best back in a generation, which he clearly is despite the month of November, for Miles to see that his philosophy is broke and outdated.
Any back of lesser caliber would not have gotten the attention of the boosters, and even though he was protected by Jindal and King, even Miles now knows, perhaps for the first time, that he has to change.
That's how Miles is. He does not adjust unless he had no other option.
So, in the big picture of the LSU football future, this may be just what the program needed. Not good for us as fans to experience, and certainly not for Fournette, but for the LSU program, this may just allow the adjustments needed for the 2016-and-beyond timeframe.

Give it up. Miles doesn't learn period

There were plenty on here convinced Fournette would run for 200+ yards on Bama, a thread proclaiming such had overwhelming positive support.

What was frustrating is that he could be such a weapon in the passing game.

i'll be honest. I don't think he adjusts even then. he thinks he has other options.

If the JJ experiment did not make you realize Miles knows best despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary, LF7 certainly should have.
ETA: Meaning Miles will run LF7 into the ground, even at 1.7 yards per carry and without changing blocking schemes to try and get him going.

I dont need Miles to learn necisarily anything, I just want 05-08 pre Jarret Lee PTSD Miles back.
Even that Miles in 08 with Jarret Lee was letting him sling the ball around the field, even to the other team 7 times for TDs. This one today barely lets his QBs throw the ball to their own team for 7 TDs a season.

You are entertaining a fantasy. If the game was played again tomorrow, do you really think the outcome would be any different? Miles is not going to change, just keep ramming his players into brick walls until something happens.
