Les' last 5 years are equal to his first 5 years - and both are better than Saban's 5 years here.

Yes, conveniently catching 2011 at the front end of that time frame helps a lot, but not enough to come close to comparing to either his first five or Saban's five

1 SEC title, 1 BCS bowl appearance (loss), 2-3 bowl record, 4 finishes outside the top 10, 1 outside the top 25 (2015 pending). 49-15 overall record. That's Les' last 5 years.

1 SEC title, 2 SEC West titles, 1 national title, 2 BCS bowl appearances (both wins), 4-1 bowl record, 2 finishes outside the top 5, 1 outside the top 25, 51-15 overall record. That's Les' first 5 years.

2 SEC titles, 1 national title, 2 BCS bowl appearances (both wins), 3-2 bowl record, 3 finishes outside the top 10, 1 outside the top 25, 48-16 overall record. That's Saban's 5 years.

The incredibly slight difference in overall record is easily outweighed by the additional hardware in both Les' first 5 and Saban's 5 vs. Les' last 5. This is especially true regarding Saban's 5 because they included rebuilding a program coming off its worst period in history with eight losing seasons in 11 years and records of 4-7 and 3-8 the two years prior to his arrival.

Also note that, one year from today, this same 5-year analysis will look a LOT different and worse for Les' last 5. Unless of course, we match the 2011 performance in 2016. Care to bet on that?
