There are concussion protocols now in place to protect players. Also, every athlete has a greater risk for developing osteoarthritis in the future. That's just how our joints are made. Playing football is risky, there's no denying it. Players and their families are fully aware of these risks and freely choose to participate. Should high schools be responsible for their former players developing OA?

With the passage of the Affordable Health care Act all Americans can now have health insurance. Preexisting injuries are covered.
