It's my understanding that in the case of a buyout, that amount would be lessened by what he earns at his next job
this is my understanding also.

that his contract requires him to make a legitimate effort to find a job.
this means nothing and I doubt it's in his contract. if it is, all it means is that he can't turn down some jobs. it would be damn hard to enforce language like that in a court of law.

I just accept 2nd tier. We should just switch to the Sun Belt. If we can win that conference we can play the MAC champions in the GoDaddy Bowl.
Seriously though. After that fiasco I think we should just keep him and post that we are accepting applications for a head coach in the early Summer of 2019. Miles can reapply if he wants. Salary dependent upon resume.
And now is the time to start scouting coaches. Not who inherited a great team or who looks good because of one or 2 star players, but who recruits over their head and has a team that performs over their head.

Alleva agreeing to this shite is madness. I read where Jimbo Fishers contract buyout was only 5 million (and that was with the great Sexton as agt).
There's a difference here. Jimbo would be resigning, not getting fired. If FSU fired Jimbo, they'd likely owe him the balance of his contract unless he's got some other type of language in it. That's basically what the $15 million figure Miles would have received is...the balance owed to him on his contract.
