First off, sorry for your loss.
Did he have a will? If so, who did he leave the truck to? That person can petition to be placed in possession of it, and sell it.
If there is an executor named in the will, that executor can probably sell the truck in his role as executor, and then the estate gets cash, which it then distributes according to the will or the intestate laws of your state, if no will.

This is in Louisiana, there was no will this was unexpected. Its just me and my brother that would recieve any of his belongings. The truck is paid off, I have the title in my hand. A little monkey to throw in there is that the title is in his name and his business name also. Seems like a huge pain in the arse to take care of all these things.
