And no one is saying Nola has the same job market. I'm disputing what you stated, because as the stats show, it was clearly wrong

The young professionals are moving the hell out of there; which means less money for the economy. For example, I have a masters in business administration. Why would I stay in Nola? They wont pay me what Im asking for, which is no less than 60k a year. You can find a apartment for $550 around Westheimer not far from the Galleria. Or you can move to Greenpoint and pay the same thing. Again, not the best apartments and they may be older, but at least its an option. Those same apartments in Nola will run for at least $800. I wouldn't pay 2k for no apartment at all; in no city. You cant rent a house out here for $1000/a month. Check them out on HAR.com.
