Yeah. Booming during certain times... Essence, Super Bowls, etc. Other than that, not at all. When was the last time you heard someone say they moved to Nola for career possibilities

Nola has been near the top in young professional growth for several years now

The real estate market there is unreal right now, similar to what was happening in the woodlands before the oil bust

This is from before the hospital jobs that have opened up and will continue to do so:

one of many articles on it

quote:

This includes New Orleans, which ties for first place on our list with San Antonio. The New Orleans metro area’s population of college graduates grew by 44,000 from 2007 to 2012, a 25% increase, double the national average of 12.2%. (The percentage of college grads in the U.S. stood at 19.4% in 2012, up from 18% in 2007.)

Nola's growth is pretty amazing actually. To say it hasn't changed is laughable.

It might be. But not compared to Houston at all. Everything you find in Nola can be found in Houston but with a bigger market. Bigger market means you can make more money because you have more customers. Real Estate is a great career, but it can be found anywhere in any city. Also, New Orleans is also built for people with money. If you making less than $30,000 a year, you wont make it. Rent alone wont be no less than $800. Everyone cant afford that. This is why most people in Nola is living with other people. Here is Houston, you can get an apartment for $550. It wont be the best apartment, but its still an option.
