This was handled poorly

This was handled very poorly, and that falls on Alleva and on the writers and posters who rely on their "unnamed sources." If they thought they had someone lined up to take over and it fell through, shame on them. If they never intended to fire Miles, shame on them. If the fans at the game who expressed support for Miles tipped the scales, there are some spineless decisionmakers at LSU.
That said, LSU needs to get better, game to game, season to season. It is and has been systematically poor in the passing game, particularly at quarterback. Nobody can run the ball against a good defense if it can't and won't pass the ball to someone who can catch it and hold onto it.
I've always liked Miles, but there must be some fundamental changes. If that doesn't happen, we'll see a coaching change in the future because LSU will get beat up again by Alabama and others who do it the right way, a strong running game and an effective passing game. I hope the next coaching change - or rumors of a coaching change- will be handled better, in a mature, deliberative way rather than childishly like this was.

I agree but prepare to be flamed by those happy with 8-3, 9-2, 10-1 seasons with much of the following:
No SEC West titles
Poor QB depth, play and development
Losing games in utter embarrassing ways
Poor player depth in key areas (LB, DL, OL)
Very predictable offensive play calling
