They absolutely cannot. It's the mob mentality. The guy is going to lay on his sword this Saturday night and they are more worried about being right for what they've been groaning about since fricking 11 years some of them.
It's time to let the guy go; but I'm embarrassed for the people spewing this. I literally feel embarrassment for you. Their parents never taught them class because they didn't have much either, obviously.
Or it's the gen x where instant gratification is something that they expect. Spoiled with instant information and adderal.
