The major problem I run into is low deer population. It is nothing but beans and rice. Every 1000 acres of land might yield 40 acres of timber, and that is being extremely generous. Cover is a huge limiting factor.

On this deer it is more about it being mature. He was a solid 4.5. Her he is last year.
And here this year.

The 137 was a year away, plenty of rack already but would have been a true stud next year. I watched him more times at 20 yards last year when he was a 100ish buck than I can count.


Just have a weak spot of strong 8's.

I'm not a hunter but enjoy reading about what you guys are up to.

I've gotta say, speaking of fat, that deer looks like he is getting plenty to eat.
