It kept them from having to resign Brandon Knight, but why that was necessary doesn't make sense.
Monroe has also looked like a bad fit. Helped bring them from one of the best defenses in the league to the 2nd worst in the league.

IIRC, they could have not traded a first round pick for Gravy, and still have enough room to sign Monroe, then sign Knight.
