Obviously economics/math wasn't a strength for you, no?
If the former part of your post is true, then it would behoove those shoppers to wait in line for the savings. How is it silly for those people? If you net $8/hr, but waiting in line for 10 hours will save you $100 on a TV, then you should wait.
If 99% of people waiting in line for Black Friday are saving more money by waiting than they would make by working, then waiting is anything but silly.
