Interesting. I did not know that.
He's a great coach. That would suck in A&M got him. And you're right, I don't think UT would go after an A&M grad. Those people are cultish in their loyalty to their alma mater. Its like scientology of colleges.
Yep. I could honestly see Morris staying at SMU and building them back until Sumlin leaves/is fired from aTm. He would definitely be aTm's first call.

Maybe so. But if you were Jimbo's agent wouldn't you pick up the phone and call the powers that be at UGA and say "hey, LSU seems to be in the same position with their current coach as you guys. What would you think if Jimbo was looking to leave FSU?" I sure in the hell would. Three way bidding war between LSU, UGA and FSU? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$

There are known knowns. These are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say, there are things that we know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we don't know we don't know.

I definitely want him. I want him more than Jimbo. He's done exceptionally well everywhere he's been. Brilliant OC and brilliant guy all around. Good recruiter as well and we might just get Ed Oliver if we got him.
This is where I want to slap you. EVERYTHING Herman has done, you get that with Jimbo as just a baseline.
-Great OC in multiple stops
-National championship as OC
-Great recruiter
-Great QB developer
But that's where the praise stops with Herman. I could keep going on for Jimbo but I'm tired of posting all his accomplishments compared to a guy (Herman) who is pretty much Kevin Sumlin, pre TAMU, at best right now.

He's younger, hungrier, and cheaper. And I think smarter.
ETA:
Also, its important to note I'd still welcome Jimbo with open arms.

He and his wife are supposed to be in town next week. Has agreed in principal to the job as long as they like what they see when they get here...or so multiple outlets are now reporting.

Shouldn't you been drinking? I haven't see you start any late night drunk threads about you wanting to jerk off your friends lately.
I've been going to bed early and waking up a like 5am. That damn 24 hour college backetball tip off got my sleep schedule all fricked up

Not really. Darrell Royal is the all-time leader in interceptions for the Oklahoma Sooners, and Fred Akers played for Frank Broyles at Arkansas.
Emory Bellard played football at Texas, but later coached A&M and Miss St.

Probably wouldn't fly after A&M acrimonious exit, but in the past it hasn't been that way.

What are you talking about?

The Longhorns have had graduates of both Oklahoma and Arkansas coaching them, and A&M had a coach who played football at Texas.

Which has what to do with an A&M grad choosing UT over A&M? We were discussing the cultish behavior and strange allegiance A&M grads have, not UT, Arkansas, or Oklahoma.
Plus this situation is different in that A&M's program is currently in better shape (albeit not for long).

please leave the thread.
