Offensive & defensive philosophy?
Generally pro-style offense, but he has installed a few option packages here and there.
He built the FSU defense to closely resemble what was being done at LSU and Bama.

Strengths and weaknesses of his teams and coaching?
He's a relatively conservative play caller. That was a common criticism of him while he was the OC at LSU under 2 different (conservative) head coaches.

Recruiting?
He has done a stellar job at FSU - to be fair, it is an easier school for which to recruit. He tends to do well with QBs and WRs - at least at LSU, OL recruiting was a challenge - we got top guys, but we always seemed short. He is well regarded as a recruiter.

Ace midnight is a FSU fan posing as LSU. No wonder all the negativity around Jimbo leaving FSU.
I would tend to think Jimbo would love to be in the SEC with LSU. Same way that Dabo would want to be in the SEC at Alabama

As you pointed out, I'm sure it has everything to do with who he was calling plays under.
Since he took the head job at FSU in 2010, he's had a top 35 offense every year with the exception of 2011. During that span, he's been in the top 25 three times with one being a top 5 and one a top 10 finish. His last year under Bowden, they finished top 25 in total offense.
