It was first a 4 door. Then they made it 2.

No they weren't...

Before the term "sports utility vehicle" was coined, Ford made the Bronco which was kind of like a jeep truck combo, then they eventually closed in the back... Chevy made the Surburban/Carry All which was more of a work/ delivery truck.. They also made the K Blazer which was a 2 door sport truck..

Ford came out with the 4 door Explorer in the early 90's which took off... GM wanted to compete so they made the first 4 dr Tahoe/Yukon in 95.. They quit making the 2 dr in 99... I had a 95 2dr the first year they changed the name from Blazer/Jimmy to Tahoe/ Yukon...

Till 99 GM still made an S10 2 and 4 door Blazer/Jimmy

70K Blazer

70 GMC Jimmy

The early 70s Suburbans came 2 and 4 dr...

Chevy was the first to make an "SUV" in the 30's/40's
