It all has to do with coaching. We had the Dline talent but our LSU coaches (Brick and Les) did NOTHING with it. Go watch the Vikings - Packers game from this past Sunday. The Vikings coaching staff were talking about what a great find Danielle Hunter was late in the draft. He's an impressive physical specimen who received little to no coaching in college.
