While it is Les fault, he has limitations on visits and phone calls to recruits. It's up to the assistants to help reel these guys in and coach up their position groups. To me it seems like chavis and haley failed at recruiting their positions. The plan was in place.
They dudnt just ignored a position. Only time they did that was at rb, and LSU isn't hurting there.
Again, you are giving him excuses where he failed. He failed to get his team to sign those players. Want to guess what else he did? Slow played a ton of players that would've come. Furthermore, this is the problem with some of the LSU fans. You care about the # of 5*'s and team recruiting ranking even if it means having an unbalanced team with holes, because people clearly celebrate these classes.
If you miss on big top players, you need to have back up plans other than taking extra DBs, RBs, WRs, and of course TEs.

Name me another successful SEC coach that has gone entire seasons without a DT or LBer in a recruiting class much less multiple ones?
And I think this is the major problem, particularly this year. We have no depth at LB or DL. None. Even if they were our all-time best front 7, by the end of the game, having spent 35 minutes on the field because our inept offense can't get their shite together, even Dorsey, Wiley, Booger, and Spears would be getting blown off the line and Sheppard, Highsmith and James would be getting run over or sidestepped.

This has been an issue for some time now.

There are differing opinions on this topic, but we can all pretty much come to the conclusion that the play calling in Baton Rouge needs to change. When you run the ball on 1st and 2nd down every drive, and then pass on third down every single time, teams catch on to that. It's also pretty obvious when you put in Quinn and Diarse that you are going to run the ball. Out of all of the times that only Quinn and Diarse are in the game this season, they have passed ONCE. Come on now. Mix it up a little. Im sure that if some fans that have never played a down of football in their life can recognize it, what do you think a D1 head coach or defensive coordinator can do? Just my thoughts...
Anyone, and I mean ANYONE that thinks coordinator change, or thinks Les Miles isn't 99% responsible for plays being run in every offense he has ever coached....you should never COMMENT on another thread or in public again!
LES MILES has been the exact same coach at OSU and LSU. People wanted him to fire the OC at OSU because their offense was bland and un creative! That OC was Gundy, the guy that lights up the passing yards and scoreboards up there now. IT WAS LES MILES holding that offense back and every single offense he coaches!! Do you think its just some miracle that every OC we find brings in the toss dive play that no other team on earth has or does run????
Amazes me how people refuse to look at history to predict the future! I guess that's what makes you a Les Miles supporter, I don't think he watches film or cares what has worked in the past, he formats his memory every game!
