I have been going to the games since 1966 so I can speak with some authority on the evolution of Tiger Stadium. I think a lot of it has to do with the corporatization of the ticket holder base. Some of the regular die hard fans are getting old (not me)dying off (not me yet) and being replaced with people who get tickets from big donors (nothing against big donors). Tiger Stadium at its peak was Florida 2007, but some of the loudest games I have been to was when the stadium held 67,500 people.

I absolutely agree with this...most of the folks that sit around me every week have absolutely no interest in the game...

they spend 3 quarters talking randomly about everything but football...and then leave.
