No it's striker fired like a glock but has a safety.

ETA: If you have a gun in your waistband in the holster is should not be uncocked.

The 938 is in the 1911 family. It's single action. That means it has to be cocked to shoot. The proper way to carry it is cocked with the safety engaged.

I am aware of this.

But I would like to be able to de-cock it in certain situations.

i guess what I want to know is if anyone here has any experience with the P938? I like the look and design, but how it shoots is more important to me. I also really like that it comes with tritium sights.
