Why do you think you need a hammer?
I can somewhat understand a safety but very few of my guns have a safety.
If you can get by without the hammer, I bought a S&W shield last week and replaced the trigger with an Apex. The trigger wasn't terrible but it wasn't good. I have shot with the new trigger yet but hope to this weekend but just dry firing, the new trigger feels really good.
Bought a holster for it tonight and wearing it right now trying to break it/me into a holster.

Don't really think I need it, I just like the option of being able to de-cock the gun. Just a personal thing that would make me feel better about having a loaded gun in my waistband.
Just curious, is the shield a double action like the bodyguard?
