You're wrong rex. The "grain of salt" isn't about spoiling good news, it's about spoiling the VALIDITY of news, whether or not it is good news or not. Bad news is still spoiled if it turns out to be wrong.

It only makes sense when used to cast skepticism upon the validity of GOOD news.

Consider this:

"You're all going to win a box of free chocolates, but take that with a bit of chocolate".

When you come to comprehend the validity of my illustration you will admit that you're wrong.
