Would PSU take BOB back and have Franklin go to Maryland
Probably. We might try Greg Schiano this time around though. The administration tried to distance Paterno ties when Franklin and BOB were hired, but it's a different and more reasonable administration now, and the facts have begun to surface.
However, Franklin would have to leave first, of course, which he's not going to.

Franklin needs to be CEO and recruit and let his coordinators run the details of the gameplan. He’s an amazing recruiter and politician, but he’s a dumbass with scheme and game management.
CSB about Franklin when he was at Vandy:
A buddy of mine, who went to Tennessee, had a UT flag flying on his front porch. He was sitting out there drinking a coffee on a Sunday morning after a Vandy home win under Franklin. The house is in a pretty busy neighborhood on the corner of a 4-way stop near Vandy’s campus. A black Mercedes pulled into his driveway and out pops Franklin. Walks over to my buddy and asks “What would it take to earn your support for Vanderbilt football?”. My friend was about 25 at the time and this is not some fancy house. He replied “you’ve got it now, unless you play UT” or something like that. Franklin got back into his car and went on his way.
Consummate politician.

You're dead on about him. He walks through downtown State College and talks to every single person he sees. It's the complete opposite of Joe and Nick Saban, who basically locked themselves in their offices for 11 hours and went home. Bob Shoop is an excellent DC, but Donovan is a horrible OC. We'll see how it turns out in the future, but I don't think we'll ever win more than 9 games with Franklin. We'll win the ones we should, once he builds his program, but won't pull off a championship run

Obrien at LSU would be nasty. He would do very well.

I could definitely get on board with this.
