For the life of me I don't understand why business majors in college have to take English courses but Liberal Arts majors rarely have to take basic ECON courses. Don't they want to know why they are making the money they are? Don't they care?

My understanding of why they require me to take a literature class is because they need students to attend to justify having a literature department. No other college in the state requires literature for my degree

Most basic core curriculum requires either macro or micro level economics. I was liberal arts and I took both.
