Regardless, the effective tax rate does not include social sec, Medicare, state, municipal or property taxes. To even begin a discussion vis-a-vis "The Top 1% Can Pay" is disingenuous.

Yes, but FICA taxes will hurt the ETR more of the 99% than it would the 1% since SS (the big one at 6.2%) caps at $118,000 though Medicare goes up slightly (.9% income > $200,000). There's a good chance that state and municipal could make up the difference. I'm not sure how property taxes or anything of that nature fit into that argument as that is a personal choice to be living those means.
