I have always thought of myself as not a racist. I don't care what color your skin is as long as you value what I value. What I've learned from the left is that the valuing of what I value (hard work, no drugs, no kids before marriage, education, ethics, religion, self-reliance) is itself racist in that it's a white's POV/privilege.

I always thought the goal should be to ensure all people, regardless of color, had access to success and the ability to live the American dream and that those things I value above are the most likely path to that end. Therefore those things that reinforce those values should be encouraged and those that undermine them should be minimized, scrutinized and pointed out as barriers to success.

But having that attitude is my showing my white privilege; I'm encouraging all races to pursue what I see as having objectively been proven the best path to success but that's really the white path and therefore racist.

I had never considered my thinking folks should pursue the path proven over time to be the most likely to lead to success as racist and not in the best interest of any/all but in itself racist, and because it’s labeled racist it can’t be followed, even though it has been proven to be the most likely path to success.

That's my understanding of white privilege...
