Film shows that Bama would see the single wide I formation and Eddie Jackson would run towards the LOS at the snap. They were basically bringing in a 9th defender in when LSU was in an obvious running formation.

The few times we tried passing out of a running formation, it worked. Well, at least it should have worked. Either way, we never got them off balance and backing off. We never successfully threw the ball, except on those 2 series (really the FG series). We never went back to it

Our playcalling is not imaginative, and we are very predictable in certain sets. Saban is a master of playing tendencies and has eaten us up 5 times in a row now. We haven't scored 20 points vs Bama in a long time. Even when we've won, we still haven't scored.

Balance is so, so important when all else is equal in football. It's why you hear that word so much especially in regards to the NFL.

Even getting the linebackers flowing from side to side can make the difference in a half-second that allows your guards to get leverage.

The fact that Bama's safeties were meeting Fournette at the LOS shows they did not respect anything other than us running the football. The fact that Bama's D-linemen were blowing up an offensive line that does not have a dearth of talent shows they didn't respect much of anything going outside the box.
