Can you call a facemask on someone after the play is dead?
Honestly, even if they gifted us 15 yards: (1) they owed us about 80, and (2) we still had to make a 50yd field goal with a kicker off the street

Absolutely you can, because you aren't calling a facemask penalty. Technically, the penalty was Personal Foul; the facemask qualifier is simply additional information, but the foul is PF. You can call a PF anytime.

It's a personal foul, so it SHOULD be called regardless. Whether they want to word it as a facemask or as unnecessary roughness, it's an enforceable call

Pretty sure the NFL frowns upon facemasking between plays, too.
