You're talking to a big Elbert fan here...but I don't see it. You can't teach 7'1 300 with some athleticism and a feathery soft touch. However, he completely does NOT fit our offense. It's just natural someone that big will be slower and not have as much stamina. I've seen a few practices this offseason, once he didn't practice (presumably because of injury), the other 2 when he was in he basically destroyed Darcy, but that was for about 5 plays. And Darcy hit a couple 3's because Elbert can't move away from the basket. Elbert would have killed it for John Brady.
With all that said, if he can give us 4 minutes of solid non-suck basketball a half, it will go a long way for the season.
Yeah. Even though he struggled in his Freshman season, Quarterman still played a decent amount of minutes. Robinson on the other hand couldn't get on the court for a team that desperately could have used some depth in the frontcourt last year. While hopeful, it's hard to expect the same type of jump this year as Quarterman experienced last season.
Also, like you said, Robinson just doesn't fit what LSU wants to do. LSU wants to get the rebound and run. That's very difficult for a guy with Robinson's size. LSU also wants to space the floor an create driving lanes. Robinson inside could clog things up. I really hope I'm wrong because LSU could definitely use size on defense and on the glass, but he just looks like a square peg in a round hole on this particular team

Look at it this way, having him there will be nice for the game when a team takes LSU out of its game. The Tigers can switch mode and play some Brady ball until the pressure point gives and the run opens up.
