With the latest fourth generation Surface Pro 4, Microsoft has produced another excellent professional grade high performance display for Windows that breaks a number of LCD tablet performance records. In fact, based on our extensive lab tests and measurements, the Surface Pro 4 has one of the very best and most accurate displays available on any mobile platform and OS. It joins near the top of a small set of excellent tablets displays – for professionals that need a very accurate and high performance display for their work, and for consumers that want and appreciate a really nice and beautiful screen.
The display on the Surface Pro 4 is actually a major upgrade and enhancement to the already excellent display on the Surface Pro 3, with significantly higher screen resolution (2736x1824 to 2160x1440), 24 percent higher pixels-per-inch (267 to 216 ppi), and 60 percent more total pixels (5.0 to 3.1 million). In addition, every display performance metric has been improved over the already excellent Surface Pro 3, including the display’s maximum brightness, contrast ratio, absolute color accuracy, viewing angle performance, and with lower screen reflectance, resulting in much better performance in ambient light. We’ll cover these issues and much more, with in-depth comprehensive display tests, measurements, and analysis that you will find nowhere else.
Microsoft provided DisplayMate Technologies with a production unit of the Surface Pro 4 so that we could perform our well known objective and comprehensive display lab tests, measurements, and analysis, explaining the in-depth display performance results for consumers, reviewers, and journalists.

I'd like to want to the Surface Pro 4 but damn that Surface Book looks like fire. I want one!

and next month the iPad Pro will top it, or at least equal it. (every new retina iPad has had this distinction from DisplayMate)

I went and played with both yesterday and that Surface Book is so sweet. Just too pricey for the 16gb of RAM as you have to get the i7 and it's $2,700. I wish they had an i5 with 256 ssd and 16gb ram like the SP4 has for under $2k and I would have bought it last night even though I don't need a laptop yet
I like the SP4 a lot, but I'd rather have the SB with the real keyboard and more powerful computing. It feels great in your hands too.

more powerful computing
The Surface Book is basically just a slightly larger SP4 that is placed on a keyboard dock that has a big battery and possibly a dGPU. Makes me wonder why they didn't just make a SP4 laptop style keyboard dock. But the answer is more than likely $.

The Surface is NOT A TABLET. Its a not so good laptop.

IMO the Surface Pro is more of a laptop than a tablet, but most people buy it to use as a laptop and not a tablet anyway. They just would like to use it as a tablet for entertainment purposes every now and then. It's definitely one of the best out there in that niche, but it is almost as over priced as Macbooks when you consider bang for the buck among it's peer devices.
The Ipad Pro just sounds like a bad idea. It apparently has a lot of power, but the mobile OS doesn't scream "Pro" on a productivity device at this point in time. Until I hear that Apple already has a shitload of deals for desktop quality software, I don't see why anyone would buy an Ipad Pro over a Macbook Air or Surface Pro 3-4.

Microsoft is really reinventing itself. Who would have thought they would creating hardware and it being so damn great quality.
I have had apple products since 2006, but my next purchase will be a surfacebook (looks amazing) and/or a surface pro 4 those things are amazing.

Well, looks like I was wrong. The iPad Pro did not best the Surface Pro 4's screen. However, the iPad Mini 4 is now the tablet screen champ (who saw that coming?)

I still use an old desktop at the house and would love to upgrade to the Surface Book......but that price kills it for me.

Apparently a language that you don't have a very strong grasp of.

The surface book is bad arse. MS engineering did an unbelievable job on the hinge where the surface attaches to the keyboard. If you didn't know it could detach, you'd think it was just a normal laptop.
