re: Anyone receive a notice from La Dept of Public Safety about their car insurance?

My situation is different because I cancelled insurance on a motorcycle that has not worked in 2 years. 2 years later, last week, I get a notice in the mail saying I owe about $600 for not turning in the plate. I never received a notice requiring it to be turned in, and the bike still has not moved.
