There is a theoretical Types IV and V civilizations, and unlike 2 and 3, there's a good chance we wouldn't be able to detect it. These get more into the level of :drumroll: Interstellar aliens where they are extra dimensional. But the logical way most aliens would gather energy is through planets and stars, and that could be detected.

Again, it's just as likely (or unlikely) that they have mastered gravity and manipulate miniature black holes for energy. Or antimatter.

You types of guys are supposed to be the ones to think outside of the box, right?

But you're speaking in absolutes. I'm saying you can't say things like this:

Even if we had the technology to detect and monitor that kind of shite, we'd still have to be looking in the right place(s).
