Why not just kick the ball out of bounds to put the opponent on the 35 instead of giving them the potential to advance the ball? Some of the recoveries seem to be around the 40.

Is it because of the chance for the opponent to mishandle the ball?

To make it seem less like LSU is conceding because of poor ST play?

To send more of a message by Les to BDP?

They sucked. Better chance to recover an onside kick than that bullshite.

A well executed pooch should put them at the 25 or 30. Like almost every other special team play our pooch kicks were awful!

Was saying the same thing. I will say this, our KO approach and coverage is about as poor as I have ever seen it.

We can't find one MFer in the entire student population that can't kick the ball into the end zone?

there were some people blaming players yesterday for the frickupa on special teams.

what they don't realize is that its a systemic issue, not down to the player level. the dude in charge of running a competent special teams unit is doing a horrific job.

the fact that we are conceding 15-20 yards of field position because his unit can't cover kicks is absolutely mind numbing. Miles is not the type to fire people, but BDP absolutely cannot be on staff next year.

btw, did anyone notice on 4th and short yesterday, I think in the second half. BDP was ready to send in the punters real quick and miles shut his arse down by keeping the offense on the field and wanting to draw them offsides. BDP looks at miles and says 'my bad' and we proceed to waste so much time that a timeout needed to be taken.

just goes to show you how clueless that dude is.

What happened to Gamble? I thought he had this monster leg and could kick it through the end zone each time?

The real issue with specials teams is not their performance, it is that nothing has been done to address this glaring issue.
