Alvarez would be a solid 0/4 with 4K's tonight
Can he get 2 more ABs?

Alvarez is bad at 1B. I can't blame him for that. I was never comfortable with Cole pitching though. I don't know if Liriano would have done better, but who knows. Cole has been really weak at times this year and he's so young

How was Gerrit Cole weak this year? He seemed consistently good to me.

He had some really bad innings. When you're facing a good pitcher, there's no chance when he does slip up. 90% of the time he's going to be great

Cole had a pretty poor second half, by ace standards. September was his worst month of season, and August second worst. Not exactly what you want.

He envisioned a low scoring game where defense would matter.
Alvarez is prob the worst 1B in baseball defensively

Ehh, had a 3.29 ERA in August with a 2.44 FIP. And a 3.13 ERA in Sept with a 2.48 FIP. Pretty damn good.

Liriano doesn't strike me as the model of consistency by any stretch. Good pitcher, but he can really struggle with command/control at times.

I bet Pedro couldn't frick up a Gatorade tub like that!

Well Rodriguez never batted.
Yeah, it ended up making sense. Get two innings of a better glove/deranged maniac.
