People who don't get outside of New Orleans much don't always realize how utterly ridiculous and bad the Saints' and WWL's local radio presence is, compared to other teams in other markets around the league. Deke and/or Hokie would not last a month on radio in any other pro team American city besides NO, he'd be fired for not knowing anything about his subject, never mind the eating. I mean we all like to make fun of guys like Paul "this is not Detroit" Allen's radio calls, but at least in Minnesota if you tune in they are professional and sound like real people on the radio talking about their team.

I once dated a girl originally from Buffalo and I spent a couple of visits up there listening to local Bills radio, a decade or so ago, during the week and game days, and even though it was the effing Bills, it was literally TEN ZILLION TIMES better than the broadcasts we have here. Other than Jim Hen, this town has nothing on the dial that is even remotely professional or NFL-worthy caliber. It's sad.

The 45 minutes I spent in a car in DC listening to Redskins radio made me realize how terrible our entire radio presence. Deke would not have made it onto their show as a caller, much less a host.

You nailed that like a split hog sir.
I lived near DC for 15 years and everything on WWL wouldn't last a week in a middle to major market. Especially those two bozos.
