From what I saw yesterday, it is clear to me that the STAFF understands perfectly that LF7 cannot defeat the entire SEC. The offense will be required to move the ball including throwing when everyone on the field, sidelines and in the stands knows that BH must throw the ball.

For example, third and long with LSU deep in its own end very late in the game and down by one score. He will have to throw the ball.

I saw him make some good decisions, but some were a tad late and some throws less than ideal. That said, the so-called receiving corps appears to be trying the catch the ball with artificial hands. Further, they do not seem to be especially interested in actually fighting to beat the defender for the ball.

I am sure some of this is attributable to contempt of and lack of respect for the opponent. I hold CLM somewhat culpable for this attitude. It appears he has sent notice to the stone-handed receivers. As someone here has said, his public words were just the tip of an iceberg of displeasure.

But shouldn't we have been trying to establish a passing game before now? Getting the WR's game time reps?

Without a passing game, this team stands little chance of going anywhere in the SEC.

It would be such a shame to squander LF7 because this team cannot field a credible QB. If the passing game can develop then the sky is the limit for the offense. The receivers are not what we expected.

As much as the passing game is shaky, the defense and not-so-special teams are also iffy if you ask me. We will find out soon enough.

How can they ever get comfortable? Receivers will drop passes in all levels, but if you have a set number of pass plays a game (seems to be ~15 for LSU) then its hard to really redeem yourself.

LSU's offense ruins QB's and passing games. Plain and simple. The Power I is a waste of space in the playbook.

Fournette could run in literally any offense. Do you ever wonder why all these great receiving TE's LSU recruits don't ever see the field?

Jeter plays more than any TE on our roster, and after that its Dillon Gordon who is likely to become a Guard in the NFL.

Les simply thinks he found a loophole in the system to play more offensive linemen for his stupid fricking mud frick slop offense. I can't stand it.

We need to instill confidence in our QBs not put the fear of god in them. That's the only negative I've noticed under miles QBs early in their careers. This is my observation not fact of course.

Harris: hesitates making absolutely sure the WR will be open (likely missing the window to throw) while thinking "dont mess this up"

When he wasn't expecting to play vs MSU last year he didn't have to hear "don't F this up" for days leading up to the game. He just trotted out there and started spinning it almost bringing us back. Same with NMSU

Now he's scared shitless checking into runs, under throwing deep balls (timid), and putting too much on short throws trying to compensate for waiting too long to absolutely make sure they will be open.

Look at the turn around at Florida all the sudden when muschamp leaves. QBs always played like garbage under him. I believe he treated QBs just like miles, and now that he's gone Grier is looking confident in his throws/decisions and it's night and day. And I know it's a new QB but I don't think he plays the same under muschamp, and I don't mean play calling just playing scared vs playing confident.

What luck is it we finally get a capable QB only to watch the receivers derp up a passing game? I mean we just cant win when throwing the football.

It is baffling how many drops these guys have. Have any of you actually felt the new gloves they wear? It is almost impossible to drop a pass unless it is a complete bullet or in a tough spot to catch. It's not like they are trying to catch these passes bare-handed. Hopefully this gets corrected and fast. The meat of the schedule will be here soon and the defense is not as good as 2011 to where they can bail a one-dimensional offense out in a jam.
