I'm trying to get a serious gathering of all the CS:GO players on campus at LSU. I saw some steam groups with like 4 members so I decided to try and do something serious. Not worried about rank, though I may try to create some teams later on based on skill groups.

I plan on printing out some flyers and putting them around campus, but for now I'm spreading the word electronically.
If you're interested, add me on Steam
Follow the new Facebook page
And join the Steam group.

Join if you're Alumni as well, you just won't be able to participate in on campus activities obviously.

I plan on doing giveaways and all sorts of fun stuff. So join and spread the word.

Question,

Is CS:GO as big as Counterstrike was back in the day? Still tickle the same needs of gamers? Round-based? Mission-based? Terrorists vs Military?

I'd wager to say it's bigger now than CS:S or 1.6.

TBS is making a show based around pro CSGO players and it is always a Top 5 game on Twitch with Dota, LoL, and Destiny

I mean like CS back in the day back in the day. Early 2000s. Could play on dialup. But connection speed was your ally.

If you're asking if Counter-Strike is still Counter-Strike, yeah it is.

OK. Good. It's about the taste and feel. If it's still intact I finally may bite on this.

What's the deal with Gary's Mod and how it relates to this?

It's actually a better competitive environment now than it ever was. You should! I need officers and members to be acknowledged by LSU.

Im not sure, I don't really play Gmod anymore.

It is still like a twitchy shooter, and I think it is only $10-15 now.

It will be fun, but I don't think you want to play on dialup.
